  • My beer wont pour
    1. Check the Keg is securely on the Dispenser. This involves pushing the keg down gently in position then a quarter clockwise twist to engage the flow. 2. Is there any pressure to make the beer pour? MINIKEGz works on air pressure. Air is pumped manually to the space between the inner bag and the keg wall forcing the beverage out (when the Tap opens). You can increase this pressure by pumping before or during a pour. A new keg will have some residual pressure and should pour a glass or so without pumping. If you are using the keg a second or subsequent time you may not have left in any residual pressure? Between uses the keg should be stored in the fridge pressurised to help maintain carbonation (if the keg wall feels soft pump until the wall is firm - but dont go overboard). 3. Have you dispensed the whole contents ?
  • My beer is flat
Few Craft Beers are carbonated to the same level as mainstream beer. Understand that different beers have varying levels of carbonation as they were made that way. As with a can or bottle not all beers are the same. However, a fresh keg should not taste flat. Generally higher ABV or more complex beers are less 'lively' whereas something like a Pilsner may be the converse. Before you remove a part full keg from the dispenser you need to ensure some pressure remains in it (pump it a few times until the pump has some resistance - but dont go overboard). This will help keep the beverage within the inner bag compressed and maintain carbonation.
  • My beer is too heady/foamy
The dispensers are very easy to operate. Check the following: 1. Is the beer nice and cold ? As beer warms it can become foamy. So too a metal tap can become heated if left in the sun or in warm conditions. Also remember a 3L mass has less surface area (and the beer is partly insulated in a bag within the keg) so its very important to allow it plenty of extra time to cool down before you Tap it. In a normal fridge allow it minimum 8hrs to cool down - and well more if you can. We know how hard that wait can be when you're salivating for a Beer! Also, any beer sitting between the keg and Tap will heat quicker so it may take a couple of seconds for a clearer pour to return. 2. The keg loses about 2 degrees celcius per hour in a 24 degree environment. If you are going to take a long time to drink it either put the keg back in a fridge or esky or buy a wetsuit cover for extra insulation. Ice sheets can be slipped between the keg and jacket for even extra 'help' in warm weather/outside. Jackets and Ice sheets are available via our shop. 3. Have you over-pumped the Dispenser? Obviously this exerts extra pressure on the contents causing it to exit quickly. Pour some off (and let it sit or dispose of it) and the pressure will reduce in time. Take note for next time! 4. NEVER put the keg in the freezer to call as if you forget to remove it the keg may build dangerous pressure. Also bear in mind different beers will also have different carbonation levels.
  • My tap drips after I pour a beer
A drip here and there is normal after pouring a beer (same as in the pub). Have a cloth handy or buy one of our handy dripmats to make life easy ! However, a Tap should not drip constantly.
  • Should I clean the fittings?
Keeping the gear clean will help keep it sanitary and your beer in optimum condition. The keg itself is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before it is filled so you dont need to worry about that. As a minimum you should occasionally run some hotwater between the attachment point and the tap in the Tabletop dispenser. Open the tap to do this. We suggest you tip the unit upside-down, open the tap and use a sauce bottle to squeeze hot water through. We also sell brewery wash and alcohol via our shop which does a far better job. A quick squirt of alcohol through the system is a good insurance policy. The more often you do this the better. When you put a used keg back on the dispenser a squirt of alcohol on the tapping point of the keg is also good practice. With the Kegtop dispenser we suggest a soaking in hot water for 30s or so from time to time. Again brewery wash and alcohol will give a better result.
  • Do I need to do anything else to keep the gear running smoothly?
Not really. Like anything, look after the equipment and it should serve you well. Just use your common sense. Excessive force is unnecessary. Give it a clean to keep all surfaces sanitary. Use hot water, Brewery wash and/or alcohol to clean between tap and tapping point.
  • Can I run more than I beer at a time ?
If you have bought more than one keg you can swap between the 2 as you wish. A Second Dispenser can be used. However, just 1 keg per dispenser.
  • Can I put MINIKEGz in an esky?
    Yes.
  • Can I lie MINIKEGz down in the fridge?
    Yes.
  • Can I buy extra beer?
Yes, anytime. Its handy to keep a keg or 2 in reserve. Free delivery for orders over $100. However, you can buy in singles if preferred.
  • How much will the beer cost me?
Prices start from around $40 for 3L delivered to your home (or office). To absorb the delivery charges it is more economical to buy multiple kegs per visit Some specialty beers will cost significantly more (same as cans or bottles) but you choose the beer and the cost from a growing list of Craft options. High Alcohol beers attract significantly more Government Excise. We keep it real and you will find our prices ON TAP are roughly equivalent to other Craft Beer offerings in the marketplace.
  • I cant find my favourite Brewery on your menu?
Sorry about that, it might turn up next month or down the track. We stock a good variety of hand selected beers and other beverages based on quality, value, demand, locality, ABV and style. We keep the adventure alive by making monthly menu changes so theres always something different. More Craft breweries , producers and products will be added as our business grows. If demand is strong for certain products we will take note so drop us an email.
  • I'm thirsty, how long will delivery take?"
Generally within 7 days depending on your location.
  • My equipment doesnt look exactly the same as your website pics
From time to time we may need to change some of our standard equipment. This may be due to supply issues or upgrades/improvements. Usually any change will be minor. If there is anything substantial we will email our customers or post a new video or details on this site.
  • Just got my equipment, how do I set it up?"
You should have been sent detailed instructions by email. Most people find it a cinch. If you still have trouble check we have the set-up instructions repeated on this site under "MORE". If you are 'mechanically-challenged' and still having issues take a deep breath, contact us and we will get it sorted.
  • Why do the different beer prices vary so much for the same quantity?
The higher the Alcohol content (ABV) the more the Goverment excise charged. Many of the beers also have specialty malts or hops which cost a lot and of course breweries have their own pricing structures. We will always have some good value options.
  • What are the 3L keg dimensions and weight?
    3L of beer equals 3kg
  • Whats the can/bottle equivalent of your 3L kegs>
